Doubts manifest about her choice of husband, her life, even motherhood. Fabulous! Beautiful non linear story of how three friends from college grow up and deal with their expectations from each other, relationships and life. But her money is dwindling and she lives under a shadow, desperate to be more than she is.

By the end of the book they honestly felt like old friends and I didn't want to let them go. Expectation is a novel of fears, lost chances, survival, resilience and courage. The blurb compares it to Normal People and I think that's a good comparison because it's just as beautifully written and heartbreaking, but Expectation is also full of hope and compassion and warmth.
