Pronounced ‘Thock-O’ and first sold in 1956, Zoco is the oldest and leading brand of Pacharán, a Spanish liqueur made by macerating sloe berries collected from the blackthorn, in an anise-flavoured spirit (anisette). This liqueur has a rich cherry red color and a velvety texture, making for an exclusive and delicious drinking experience. One theory holds that young Navarrans took bottles with them on National Service, popularising the liqueur in the rest of Spain. There are limitations on the manufacturing of Pacharán of Navarra to preserve its quality, tradition, and Navarrese identity. Region: Navarra Marketed in a distinctive square bottle. Zoco was founded by the family of Ambrosio Velasco who had been producing patxaran in the Viana area since 1816.
