At night you can accidentally pull the top zip downwards, effectively opening the entrance entirely, which causes awful drafts in the night. Definitely waterproof, it poured during the night and I was dry and comfortable. In the market for my first tent, I was getting overwhelmed by all the choices on Amazon, so I chose to go with the brand name I knew and some solid reviews to back it up. I honestly cannot fault it for the price, the only thing preventing it from getting five stars is that it doesn't excel at anything in particular.

The vent design is basic but effective, not much else to be said there. It's bigger than it looks, although very cosy, I've taken my family of four (2 small kids, 2 adults) on numerous family weekends away in it. But this is what you expect at this price point so I wouldn't necessarily see it as a major drawback. The 3 person variant is relatively high, and could comfortably fit 2 casually trekking or camping, or 3 if they wanted to conserve packing space.

Apart from that, I'd highly recommend this tent. Very happy with this tent! I picked up this tent at a motorcycle show after some inconsiderate person decided to fall on the one I had brought from home, and I must say I am very impressed. Hurray for Coleman!

Given the room inside you wouldn't need to be cheek to jowl with one another whilst sleeping either. It stood heroically in heavy rain and winds of up to 45mph and we were dry and warm inside.

Pitching is a doodle, although if you leave the inner and outer attached (as I do) be careful when it is raining outside as water will affect the inner tent when erecting. The side pockets totally suck. I have to say, this tent was everything I wanted and more!

For one, it’s luxury. If you think you might like to try camping I think this tent might be ideal, it is cheap enough to be worth a punt whilst good enough to make sure that if you don't enjoy the experience it wont be the tent's fault. Even when we slept on a self-inflating mattress, the tent’s floor was dry inside.
