About this deal

Officially, the world's most elite special forces unit was dissolved at the end of the Second World War, and not reactivated until the 1950s. In late summer 1994 eighty SAS soldiers parachuted into the French mountains, targeting one of the last great defences of the Reich. This is a narrative of wall-to-wall do-or-die action and daring, chronicling the exploits of some of the most highly-decorated soldiers of the twentieth-century. Using hitherto untold stories and new archival sources, Damien Lewis follows one close-knit band of warriors from the SAS foundation through to the Italian landings - chronicling the extraordinary part they played as the tide of the Second World War truly turned in the Allied's favour. Some books MAY have a red or black dot or line on the edge of the page by the spine. SAS Nazi Hunters is the incredible, hitherto untold story of the most secret chapter in the SAS's history. Reviews

Tony Hodson

This is definitely a book I will re-read and can highly recommend to others interested in this genre. Damien Lewis is a superb author whose relentless commitment to research ensures the story is comprehensive, accurate and leaves no loose ends. 10 out of 10Highly recommendedProbably my favourite book to date

neil bullard

A brilliant and well written account on some of the missions conducted by 1 SAS during WWIIAn easy book to read moving from secret drops behind enemy lines, liaison with the resistance and then starting to cover the heinous crimes of the Nazi’s under the Commando order. This previously untold story is so much more than the usual war story because the focus is on one small twelve man team of brothers who did whatever was required in order to achieve the mission, whilst trying to stay alive.

GeneralLatham

An incredible story of bravery, heroism and tenacity featuring an SAS unit dropped behind enemy lines in support of the D-Day landings. !

The post war story hunting Nazi war criminals is almost another book in its own right! Having just finished this book, I felt I had to leave this review, so others don’t miss out on this exciting, compelling, amazingly detailed master piece Damian Lewis does it again! I actually found myself reading the book during the day (I'm normally an evening time reader), simply because I wanted to know the full story. Immediately after the war, several of the surviving members of the unit were involved in tracking down those in the SS & Gestapo responsible for the brutal torture and deaths of some of their colleagues.
