Their relationship had this reader stupidly smiling, on the edge of my seat, and CURSING the five Dragon Gods for ALL eternity! ) The characters are so well written (I have a bizarre soft spot for Wren) and I am dying to continue Arcady and Everen's journey as it unfolds.

Every step in this relationship felt earned, every setback warranted, and when they finally came together, the sparks were flying (literally). One was a thief, the other a killer steeped in magic; I was hooked to the page through the plot but moreso through their growing connection. This tale has it all!

Be prepared to fall in love with this book. UTTERLY impressed with every scene that spell working was displayed. AND THE MAGIC!

As I read on, I found myself dreading that as part of a series, the book would end on a massive cliffhanger, leaving me heartbroken and pining for book two. There was no persuading me to believe that Arcady and Everen cared for one another. I am counting down the days to book 2. R.

IT GRIPPED ME IN ITS TALONS and flew away with my heart. Her riveting writing style completely transported me into the world of Lumet. The ending eviscerated me.
