The bolt also sits quite high but I have finally managed to get the lock back over it. While this bike rack looks great and although a bit fiddly to put together seems to be pretty solid. The bikes went on really easily and the tilting bar works extremely well, although for some it may be a bit heavy. .
Once set up this is a great carrier and has kept my bikes nice and safe. The bar is big though, whereas some models the tilt mechanism is tiny. and I didn’t notice until the VERY END! !
After looking at my sisters adapter for her plug I somehow managed to fit mine on, so basically, it does go on with lots of fiddling and a bit of brut force. I have found THE major issue which no one seems to have mentioned. It’s marked down because of the screwing pin and fiddly plug but otherwise a brilliant purchase! Securing it to your tow bar requires a hefty spanner and basically screwing it to the towbar, so quick and easy attachment!
The other problem I had is that it has a 13 pin plug so I need the adapter to turn it into a 7 pin plug. However, the adapter was really tricky to connect to this plug and after getting Halfords to try two different adapters (neither I nor the member of staff could fit them) I thought I would take it away and skim off the little bobbles.
