I only use it to film my kid while we surf together. I use this with a GoPro Hero Session 5.

Non official mounts can usually be ok but none of the alternatives match the official version of this mount. My Session is secure to the wrist strap and I don't feel like it's going to separate and fall off. However for the price if you don't need it then don't bother, it is a strange POV to work with and there will usually be better options than a hand/wrist mount but if you do need it definitely get this one.

I'm not sure how it would be with a bigger camera. I can paddle and catch waves fine with this on.

It works perfect with the Session. It is comfortable and I don't even know that it is on.
