‘A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR’ is on pages 240-242, followed by a page of ‘ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS’. ’s classic stories of yesteryear couldn't be timelier.

B. I'm buying copies for friends, relatives and teachers I know. and that is REALLY hard to do once you are touched by the lives of the ‘HIDDEN FOLK’!

Either flap can act as a page keeper if you can bear to put the book down long enough. However, as a book to read together, this is a delightful choice. For those more mature readers too, this is great escapism and very relatable to those more traditional books such as The Wind in the Willows. She follows three little people ~ miniature guardians and protectors of nature ~ who are themselves literally disappearing, and who have to journey to find out why.

Melissa Harrison’s reimagining of B. ‘By Ash, Oak and Thorn’ is a truly beautiful tale of what happens when we start really ‘seeing’ the wonderful and endangered world we live in.

d looking after what we have. ” PIERS TORDAY’For me an apt cover quote for the story writing, woven around all sorts of informative snippets of nature, is superbly descriptive with little snatches taking me back to favourite books in my forever collection that I have read over & over again and love to this day. I think anyone of any age would enjoy this wonderful book. Thoroughly recommend.

With only bravery, resourcefulness and a few animal friends to guide them, they begin to discover what can be done. a sheer delight. ’ooOooMeasuring around 19.

Guided by birds, stars and wild creatures, they set out to find more of their kind. Very much in The Borrowers and Animals of Farthing Wood vein.
