Then worked my way back to the beginning! I recommend for people interested in knowing more about film, without getting into academic details. I appreciated the attention to film as a global phenomenon - not just a Hollywood history (though of course, that's a substantial part of the book). What I like best about this book is that you can open up to any page and read the info.
I read that first. I was most interested in the last section titled Must See Movies. It's meaty but short with lots of wonderful photos to illustrate and make you want to see so many films - often films you forgot about and would like to see again!
