Like, it should be able to bear it's own weight. That's because the keyboard tray main surface is in TWO parts.

I bought it back in Nov 2021 for $27 so I think I got my money's worth. Product in accordance with the publication. Regardless, it was annoying to figure out so bumping my review up to 4 but not 5 stars. Great job, Vivo!

As a work-around, I've set the attachment brackets to be about 1" from the edge of my desk, this doesn't seem to compromise the stability of the tray and it allows me to get the keyboard back far enough from the edge of the desk to be able to use the function keys, albeit with the front edge of the keyboard (on the body side) hanging 1" off the front of the tray. Some may look at this as a positive! I personally think this option would be amazing, but perhaps it's a "physic" or engineering thing as to why they wouldn't have increased this height.

Just note however some big mice, like the MX master 2s will not fit under here. The only way this could be handled would be the height of the metal that comes down from the c-clamp to attach to the keyboard slider. PROS:- very solid/sturdy, as everyone's reviews say- metal ball bears allow much better quality slide (as compared to the cheap plastic on plastic in a previous brand (by ErgoActive), and is SO worth the extra few $- doesn't bounce when I type, which is so important (unlike the brand previously mentioned)- both wide and deep enough for my Apple keyboard and mousepad- nice looking, discreet- easy assembly- decent price- prompt delivery- arrived in perfect condition (no scratches, nothing missing). This is the big one.

He is extremely happy with this product and here are his comments:PROS- all the parts are of excellent quality- the width is enough to handle mouse and keyboard with num pad- the assembly is easy- they include two extra of every screw- there are rubber grip pads for the top side and the bottom side of the c-clamps, resulting in no damage to the desk whatsoever- the bevel at the front of the keyboard tray is quite a nice touch. ! Highly recommended. Yeah.

The other severe limit is that my desk is only 5/8" thick, and any rail-less brand has screws that are 5/8" long (so the screws would've gone right through the wood). Giving it 3 stars because I don't think the fall (which was one clamp popping off, causing all weight to be on the left clamp) should have broken it. It's made a huge difference for me as my desk was a bit high, it also makes my setup look a lot cleaner, and pushed in when not in use.
