It benefits from a shake when changing the bedding to return the loftiness to the side panels, I find. In my case, the rough design of the walls of my mattress means it does not slip.

n. not sure how easy it will be to fold & return, but I don’t have any plans to do that in the near future! It attaches via 3 cm wide, good quality, elasticated straps that are firmly attached to all 4 corners. Different products are currently listed on this same product code.
