The media could not be loaded. These are excellent quality tapewound strings. I'll update this listing once I get a year or so of experience with the strings.

I have only played on these strings for a couple of hours since putting them on my bass. Good looking strings but were too short for my Framus 5/149 Star Bass which has a scale length of about 30 inches, the description says they are good for short scale basses with a string scale length of up to 32 inches. These are much nicer to play fluidly, with a noticeably lower tension and a fuller sound. I ended up making a 1/4 inch spacer block to “extend” the bridge so only the silk would engage the tuning post on the G string.

Strings sound and feel amazing, best I've used for a fretless. The manufacturing quality is typical for D'Addario, which means absolutely top fit and finish.

Paul Beck

6 inch Mikro scale length, even though they seem to be more for 30-31 inch scale length. I was concerned that the tape would affect the harmonics capability of the Monarch, but the harmonics are clear as a bell and sustain nicely.

I used this set to replace half-rounds (ENR71M) on a Crafter fretless acoustic bass. The black strings look stunning on the guitar, especially with its black hardware. Excellent customer service! I don't yet have enough experience with these strings on my Monarch's ebony fretboard, but have every reason to believe that they will be kind to the wood and help the bass age nicely without wearing grooves.

5th star added! I love the sound of these strings. I've tried all the common flats and semi-flats. Follow up: customer service at D’Addario responded to me and is replacing the item.
