I don't know what the long term durability of these will end up being, but I've owned Vivobarefoot shoes before and I have high hopes that they will stand the test of time. Trust me during this trip we saw massive waterfalls and I got soaked , boots completely soaked and feet stayed dry. The boot’s experienced cold, harsh terrain and thousands upon thousand of steps during my Iceland trip. Super high quality throughout.

The pictures are the aftermath. I got these because my work required leather shoes and I really wanted to stick to barefoot designs. The waterproofing worked!

I took these boots on a 16 mile hike through glaciers, lava fields, gravel, rough terrain and I was amazed that after about 12/13 miles is when I finally I started to feel some slight foot discomfort, however it wasn’t anything to crazy. Very comfortable but with a new pair of shoes i figured i would have to wear these at least more than a few times before the sole started separating. The thermal insole is quite impressive too, surprisingly my feet stayed warm for a long durations on fair weather days, however longer exposure when temps and wind were cold , the toes might get a little cool.
I love this brand so I decided to try this boots out for a 11 day trip in Iceland. Wow. But if you pair these with some nice wool socks , you won’t have to worry about getting cold feet. I’m very impressed with how this boot held up!
If that's the case, then the old ones must have been indestructible, because mine are holding up very well after ten months of almost daily use. Overall extremely satisfied with this purchase and can’t wait to use them again.
