The clip has a good amount of tension to hold it firm in a pocket or sleeve with the tip rounded off to allow it to slide over the edge that it needs to grip. I bought this one as a gift but upon receiving realised it was such a fantastic pen decided to keep it!

When the cap is pushed back on it feels that it is being held tight, yet eases into place. The mechanical pencil is good but not my main reason for purchase, nor have I used many at this point in time. Straight away there was a very special feel of quality of the all metal body; the weight in my hand, the balance on my fingers, the machined grip all spoke of fine engineering.

Below the cap is a rotating cylinder with a machined grip and a window cut out to show lettering (HB, B, 2B, 4H, 2H, H, F) where you can set it as a reminder of the harndess of lead that you have inside. 5mm, it has a solid click when pressed with positive push-back, the cap slides off to reveal the eraser beneath. The narrowing of the tip gives a clearer field of view in the drawing area and after a solid hour of drawing there is no hand fatigue that I have experienced with plastic bodies or thinner pencils. The pencil tip continues the back metal theme but only as a 5mm sleeve for the silvered lead barrel which protrudes by a further 4-5mmTo refill the grip unscrews from the hexagonal body and even this fine screw thread has a precision feel to it.
