I haven't yet had to charge it as it comes precharged and ready to go. Soundwise, it is much quieter than my old electric trimmer, but it comes with five pairs of colour co-ordinated earplugs for those who need them. The manual covers the usual warnings, battery charging and installation/removal, operation, advice on working position and methods of use, aftercare, cleaning and blade maintenance, troubleshooting, and ‘end of life’ disposal information instructions. The rechargable battery and charger are a decent size so that they don't take up too much space on the counter. The ease of use was fantastic, just like a hot knife through butter.
For the past 9 years I've had to nag my husband to borrow his father's hedge trimmer when I wanted ours cut. I enjoy providing potential purchasers with my thoughts and experiences to (hopefully) help them to make an informed decision about a product they are considering buying.
But not anymore! The blade cover completely surrounds the blade. I tried this out yesterday on a front bush of ours that was edging over onto our neighbour's walkway, and I'm very impressed.
I can't wait to get out back and start trimming away! In fact, there was even 5 pairs of earplugs included in the box. Obviously I can’t comment on this trimmers long term use, but it comes with a 12 months warranty and, for now, it certainly seems to be all I want and need in a hedge trimmer.
Due to the time of year it has not been possible to give this trimmer a good enough go to see how long the battery lasts, and I didn’t use it long enough to discharge the battery - to see how long it takes to charge. The balance of the tool is perfect so that all of the weight isn't in one place so that neither arm grows tired while holding up at shoulder height. When not in use, the cutting blades are protected by a plastic, one way fitting, sheath. This lovely hedge trimmer came with an almost fully charged battery so I was able to give it a quick try almost immediately.
I’d prefer not to have to trim other people’s foliage but I have no choice, so I am so looking forward to doing it with this cordless tool - without the added inconvenience and dangers of using extension cables. If I don’t like something, or feel there is a problem with it, I will always say so!
