Kind of disappointing but I still totally recommend the rest of the series. I absolutely love, love, love this series. But I’ll admit this was my least favorite book I will agree with other reviews that while reading the book, it felt…wrong. So while I have not read them personally, my son insists they are better than HP because they “use REAL magic” and it’s “much funner.

He read this new one in 4 days, skipping screen time and video games. Love Shannon Messangers books 💙 When is 10 coming out she keeps asking every week!
Then went back through the older books once again. Like the story was just too rushed. I feel like it needed more to it nothing really happened it was mostly just Sophie’s boy drama through the whole thing.
I know this photo isn’t a glamorous review photo, but it captures the absolute LOVE that one child has had for this series for the past few years. So I highly recommend them! Then grab a different one and read that in the car, keeps a different one in his room… and eventually they all end up in the car because he won’t put them down.
He reads them while walking into school, in no particular order anymore - he will grab whichever one is closest and read it for a while. My daughter age 8 is an avid reader, she has read SO many books, but these books are her favourite. ” He is anxiously awaiting the next book, movies, and a theme park dedicated to the series 😀
