Active Iron Pregnancy is formulated with 17mg of iron to assist in maintaining proper iron levels in women during pregnancy. Active Folic delivers a form of folic acid that has x3 greater absorption than standard folic acid. Take with water. However I take comfort in the fact this appears to be a quality product from established well-known company, and have won many awards including: Best Maternity Supplement, Best Pregnancy Iron, Best New Product in the Mums & Tots awards, as well as being recognised in the Best Pregnancy Supplement category at Boots. You can imagine my delight at being afforded the opportunity to review this product shortly after my six month pregnant daughter was told she was slightly iron deficient - talk about timing!

Even if my daughter had a blood test before and after starting this course of tablets, there would be no way of knowing if any improvement in her iron deficiency was down to diet. The media could not be loaded. No it’s clearly very difficult to measure the effectiveness of a course of multivitamin tablets. First of all you’re getting your iron tablets, then a multi vitamin tablet and finally a fish oil or omega three tablets.
