I've used the fan for almost a year now and decided to review. It can oscillate in two directions (horizontally and vertically) and you can set it to do either one or the other or both. Great British manufacturing.

The round remote control is very cool. Pics 2 shows the white base and pic 3 is the remote. . I can see myself using this all year round.

It's portable and I had it in the living room and then in the bedroom. So far I’m very happy, but have only been using it for 3 days. This fan still disturbs my sleep, just perhaps less than other fans might. I've had various types of fans in the past in my bedroom from industrial floor flans, tower fans and more recently traditional desk fans but none have come even close to the effectiveness of this MeacoFan (1056).
