The motor has no polarity so you don’t worry which wires go where, just cut the old and connect up. Take picture as you go so you know what it all looks like for refitting. Below is a really good guide to look at if you’re considering this.

I had to bend a lug straight to get it to line up so the motor slotted into place but that was simple with pliers. Figment was ok for a competent DIYer. So invested in this motor as new valve required draining central heating system and £100+.

In addition the motor kept humming and was getting hot when it should have been idle. https://youtu. Pictures shared are the old motor and the body after motor removed.

be/KT6mq1440zMIn my case I was getting heat in the radiators when only the HW was calling for heat plus the CH on its own was coming on because the motor wasn’t moving the microswitch in the head that gives power to the pump and boiler. Glad I found this motor first. We had an issue last year with "whirring" sound from central heating valve. I took the motorised head off the body of the 3 way valve to get the access I needed to remove and replace the motor.

Just two screws and and the two crimp together electrical connections. This new synchronous motor was swapped into our system to get hot water again. I could tell the valve was good because I could operate it by hand. While the head was off the valve body I made sure the valve could be moved side to side by hand and that it wasn’t leaking.

It was easy to put in. Took half an hour to unscrew old motor, install this replacement, test, and joy at having a working central heating system.

This fitted ok, it’s only been in use for a few weeks so cannot speak to longevity. The old motor was struggling to operate it.
