Wish I had bought this sooner. Edit: We set it up in the center of the apartment on Sunday when it arrived, in the hallway with all doors open, set to an auto target of 55% humidity. Much better nights sleep! Left it running over night and it was down to 59%, another tank full.

In short this is a worth while purchase in my opinion. It's not too loud, but you can definitely hear the fan.
That guy who buys stuff
The dehumidifier is performing excellently, effectively decreasing the humidity from around 70% to 55% and extracting significant amounts of water. I would still prefer not to have it in the bedroom though (although I could get used to it easily enough). We are happy with this purchase. The DD8L (desiccant) is a very quiet machine (37db) that warms the air slightly as it runs (perfect for cold spaces - boats caravans etc) but they do cost a little more to run.

More effective if you check on the clothes to ensure that they are dry. I purchased this recently and I have been impressed by the quality of this product. I used to have headaches from wet clothes drying on the radiators; water+powder evaporating in the air.

If you're buying specifically for clothes drying then you might look to a larger machine. Within the first 6, it dropped the humidity from 82% to 70% (bathroom finally dried too! Instructions are easy to follow. so it really is the best of both worlds.
