But she sticks to the strict rules all commuters should abide by and never speaks to them. ⠀ 🌟It gives you all the feels from laughter, tears & everything in-between. Eccentric and imperious Iona is belittled at work by younger colleagues for being 'a dinosaur', so she decides to enlist the help of regular train passengers (whom she has given funny names, like 'Smart-but-sexist-Surbiton') after one of them has a near death experience in their carriage one day. ' 'Me too,' said David.

But it seems to work. I loved the characters and the warm was of the writing . As you can see from my photo, I’ve just finished reading this in the car in the dark.

Well this did not disappoint, the second from this author and it was just as good as the first. They want us to be invisible, so we have to be seen. One of my promises to myself this year is that I’d read more of my backlist and, as The People On Platform 5 has languished on my shelves for far too long, I decided to listen to it this month.

I will recommend this to anyone I possibly can! ⠀ Feel good fiction at it's finest, I highly recommend! 'Who'd have thought I'd end up basing my life choices on an eccentric lesbian? "Present day London and formidable, 'magazine therapist' (agony aunt), Iona, who is in her fifties, travels by train for work.

It’s perfect. I always prefer a physical book, but only ever take a Kindle overseas to save space!

I loved her nicknames for the other characters before she met them, her little schemes, and her beautiful romance with her wife, Bea. Spirited and ebullient, she stands out from the crowd and refuses to fade away like people expect a woman of her age to do.
