The light gets “duller” by fewer LEDs being lit. Quite a small thing, gives off just a hint of light that won't disturb your sleep. My big problem with this is that what buying it I found a bigger version in Salisbury for a pound less

More LEDs light when it is darker to produce a brighter seeming light. The LED lights adjust to different ambient brightness. Not very bright but gives enough light to just see once your eyes adjust. This is brilliant.

Would definitely recommend this and I'm very pleased with it. I'm sitting her writing this review actually with it on (see photo) and, while you can't see the crib beneath it, I can and it's great.
It doesn't disturb the baby or my partner, but means I don't struggle to deal with the baby during the night. The sensor works fast to alter the light. It won't be enough to read a book by but it does say night light.
Warm red light produced.
