About this deal

Attributes

Wood's Old Navy Rum is made from the finest sugar cane and distilled in Guyana, South America. 7 x 2. EAN: 5010327655581 9 x 2. As with all full strength Demerara Navy Rums, this Woods 100 is a little on the boisterous side at full strength, but this rum swims beautifully with a cola or ginger beer of your choice, plus lots of ice and a generous wedge of lime. A true great of the Navy style rum. Enjoy Wood's straight, on ice, in a sophisticated cocktail or simply with a mixer such as cola, lemonade or ginger ale. One of these rums is distilled in the 250-year old Versailles still; the only single wooden pot still in the world. Wood's is distilled using traditional pot stills - a method developed to create malt whisky and unchanged in 150 years.

  • Serve straight, on ice, or with a mixer such as a cola or lemonade
  • 57% alcohol by volume
  • Made of greenheart, a local hardwood that imparts complex flavours
  • Characterised by an unbelievably smooth, mellow taste

I wanted to get something special for pride month. ).

This stuff is epic, I am a light weight so one shot glass full and I was giggling, the flavour is really great, not like the cheaper rums I’ve tried, the flavour is decent but it’s very very very strong, next time I am trying it with cola but from time to time I will drink it neat, the bottle is pretty cool also. Because of how strong this is you need to be very careful about how much you have. Me and the wife have really gotten into our rum this year (might have something to do with being mostly housebound for most of it! However at the price and ABV is represents great value

This has become my new favourite spirit. What I normally buy for pride month every year wasn't available this time so I decided to buy this Navy rum instead since I don't often have it. It's very smooth for the alcohol percentage.

I'd say the bottle itself is a little plain- very simplistic and the cork is a little tricky to open. I also suspect the over use of E150 (caramel colour) in this, in terms of the blend I can guess it's mainly Guyana based, which is good but lacks depth. If someone gave this to me in a glass and didn't tell me the alcohol percentage I would have never guessed it's as high as 57% because of how smooth it is.

and although 'lower octane' mainstream rums are cheaper to buy, a bottle of Woods lasts much longer and therefore more economical - the wonderful flavour is a massive bonus! Very flavourful and a good buy.
