My solution was to cut an old plastic library card, slip it in the mount bracket and *then* slide the mount onto the arm. The only niggle was the bespoke clip between arm and rest that caused the rest to wobble ever so slightly. You can just see it hanging from the shelf on the far left. It does exactly what it says on the tin.

All the parts were in the box and the assembly was extremely simple. Excellent product. The whole thing is now solid as a rock. I asked the seller a few questions and received a prompt response.

I actually used this product to hang it from a shelf and it works perfectly (See picture. Fabulous laptop, iPad Pro, and indeed as a book rest. ) if you need a good quality sturdy desktop mounted laptop bracket. Highly recommended.

Then this product is perfect.
