What a wonderful Christmas Story, one to share with the whole family. Nikolas has very little in life just a sleigh his father lovingly made (but he loses that when his father takes it with him on his job) and a doll made lovingly by his mother out of a turnip. A book that will undoubtedly become a classic, one that can be read year after year. She is a cruel heartless woman a character you will surely love to hate.

It is the story of a young boy Nikolas who has lost his mother and then his father goes off on a job that will take him away from his son for several months. Nikolas is very young and cannot stay in their one room cottage alone so father has asked his sister, Aunt Carlotta to come and mind the boy. But escape into a world discovered ,by Matt haig. This is the wonderful tale of how Nikolas becomes Father Christmas a truly magical story very highly recommended and the pictures by Chris Mould are a true delight.

She has only come across because of one thing - the money her brother has promised. Happy Reading :-) An origin story of Father Christmas that is unique and calls to the inner child in us all if we're the adult reading Haig's magical tale or that child who looks to December 25th as the day were dreams may come true. With magical characters including trolls, elves, pixies and of course, reindeer, A Boy Called Christmas is for the most part, a wonderfully fun tale with a few moments of sadness that just make the joyous parts all the more pure.

My favourite character of all is Blitzen a creature whom Nikolas helps and the pair become very good friends. Believes in magic and the hope it gives you. He says it will earn them lots of money but that is something that does not really interest Nikolas he would rather just be with his father. A Boy Called Christmas is the epitome of a wonderful Christmas tale and one that everyone who loves Christmas and magic in general will adore.

Funny old word ,today is really weird. This is a story I wish I had when I was a child, because I love magic - and the joy it gives you to believe in the possibility of more. There's a kidnapping, lots of elves with the most diverse of personalities, tons of beautiful snow a little boy called Nicholas who despite all that has hurt him?
