I missed the boat on the original Chromecast Audio not realising that it also supported optical output and that the whole philosophy of chromecast was to take over streaming from your phone. My Gobran H3 video projector has a poor quality headphone output (nasally and noisy sound, lacking bass and midrange). What’s in the box: One (1) 4K HDMI to HDMI and Audio (RCA Stereo or Spdif) extractor, and one (1) female phone jack to USB-A power cord.

But it's totally inaudible as soon as there's a dialogue or music. There are then two other outputs, SPDIF out and stereo mini-jack out. Cost-effectiveness and value: Overall I am very satisfied with the product; it is well-made, compact, and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Even though I can't adjust the volume, the volume is high enough with my Sony MDR-XB500 or Philips Fidelio M1 headphones to enjoy the movie soundtrack.

SACD players must output a PCM signal via HDMI. Please note that older AV receivers or DA converters may not be able to process such a signal via SP-DIF! ✔ Easy to set up. As its description indicates, this box takes an incoming 4K signal from your HDMI source and extracts the audio portion of the signal, and ports it to an RCA Stereo or SPDIF output to your (non-HDMI) stereo amplifier while allowing the 4K video portion of your signal to pass through and be outputted to your TV.
