About this deal
Hardcover Baking bread was the one thing that made any sense to Kitty, and before long she was making loaves for half her village. Kitty Tait grew up a funny, chatty redhead who made everyone in her family laugh. Slowly, she disconnected from everyone around her and struggled to wake up, get dressed, and leave the house. Her desperate family tried everything to help her but she slipped further away from them. Al asked Kitty if she'd like to try baking bread herself, and their lives were never the same again. Her life changed overnight and she withdrew from the world. A cookbook with bags of heart about the redemptive power of baking 'Breadsong' tells the story of Kitty Tait who was a chatty, bouncy and full-of-life 14 year old until she was overwhelmed by an ever-thickening cloud of depression and anxiety.

wow they're amazing if you have always wanted delicate flavor in your baked treats then just buy the book for the buns alone. Honestly after reading the Guardian article about Kitty's journey to baking it truly inspired me to buy the book, and I was super curious about the garam masala Chelsea buns. Just loving it. Just the most wonderful book.

But this book is so much more than her personal story. Thoughtfully written and a great help to anyone that may be feeling a bit fragile. This book is half biographical journey and half recipe book.

Haven’t read the story yet, but jumped right into the first recipe. I nearly sent it back! Result was a perfect crisp crust, and something delicious for sandwiches. I’ve got a lot of baking books and this is one of the best.

Love this book great recipes brilliant story that i have found so inspiring. Kitty aged 14 is overcome with depression and anxiety. Tried the Fika buns and I have my mind set on the Biga bread next. Teaches you a thing or two about business too.

It is one of the things that make me happy and I will re-read it a 100 times for sure. I devoured every page of this fantastic book! I do wish that amazon would allow us to spit reviews into 'how well it's written' and 'did you like it?
