Evil Spirit
The anguish of persons and the framework of place. Photography is more than a technical exercise; its a frame for the eyes, a frame to be there. A proper film. The importance of somewhere to go.
Not knowing what it would be about worked really well for me. The books I could read, the films to see and the music that became post-punk. This movie is dripping in Style. 1981 the peak of my youth.
As it happens he wrote and directed this sumptuous piece. I came to it first because I have not seen a new film in three months or so and I saw Sam Mendes as director of this film. Yes, I watched on home cinema 10’ projection with earbuds for that sumptuous soundtrack.
I recall The Abbey in Wavertree Cinerama until a supermarket and now coming down. Can’t tell you how much I thoroughly enjoyed this movie experience.
Beguiling, bewitching, a story of us oddments otherwise known as people. Out of school and working and exploring. Because its interesting.
