About this deal
With beautiful black and white artwork interspersed throughout the text and curious, playful prose, you find yourself rooting for the Moomins and their quest to find Moominpappa and a place to call home. We aim to bring the wonderful world of children's books and illustration into your life with beautiful - and very special - gifts for children that have been carefully sourced and handpicked, and of course gifts for adults too. Moominmamma and Moomintroll need to find a home for the winter, someplace where sun is plentiful and safe from the dangers of the unknown. Written during the 1939-40 Finnish-Soviet Union conflict, or The Winter War, Jansson uses the unusual setting of a natural catastrophe to provide the background of her first children’s book and the first appearance of her beloved Moomin characters. Their journey seems daunting but they forge ahead, with Moominmamma’s kindness and patience giving Moomin the courage he needs to face the strange, unexplored path that lies ahead of them. Illustrated. Hardcover.

Unfortunately most of the text has a double-printed shadow which makes reading it even more difficult on the eyes after a long day. Lovely hardcover book with beautiful illustrations by Tove :) Just as expected. Also it offers beautiful sepia watercolours illustrations. The majority of the pages have this issue.

It's a awesome book for children and adults who are interested in the Moomins' story. I recently discovered the charming world of the Moomins, and was pleased to order this book.
