Otherwise it wouldn't have cleared under the desk. In other words this is an excellent birthday gift. I loved it so so so so so much it was worth it for me to take a risk and just order it anyway and this is the most comfortable chair I have EVER had! Because it's important, I'm 5'2", lightweight, and keep it covered in blankets, so that might affect something or why people didn't love this chair.
