I have not read novels by Conrad Jones before and hope I will also enjoy the rest of this series as much! Also the book is set on Ynys Môn or Môn (Anglesey) - not Mon (without the accent), so no companies called Mon Car Services etc. Good characters, even if their livers won't make retirement!

Y Ddraig Goch - lots of them. Mon is French for 'my'. I prefer a slightly cosier Aggie Christie type detection puzzle - an argument over the Church Flower Rota ends up in strychnine in the choccies - but there is a lot going on in this. Unholy Island is the first in the series and an excellent read - I couldn't put it down.
And always nice reading about murders in familiar places. Nowhere in Wales is there a pub called the Ddraigh Goch. One complaint - dodgy editing or proof-reading.
I've just started the second one. I lost count when the bloodily-slaughtered body-count reached double figures. Just read this on Kindle.
Really not too bad. Thanks to Kindle Unlimited, I have been able to borrow the Anglesey Murders box set (books 1-5). But generally not bad.
