I literally cloned my NVME drive using the dd command on the command line. The above screenshots are a performance comparison between the OWC enclosure and the NVMe SSD installed on the 2017 27in 5K iMac (Core i7 4. Installation is easy, setup is fast, and the results are immediate. If that's not a concern, I don't think you'll find a higher quality, more configureable, and faster Thunderbolt 3 storage solution on the market right now.

First off this setup, coming in at $1500 after adding 4x1TB Samsung 870 EVO SSDs, isn't cheap. It was always a pain to have to install them into a computer just for the purpose of running diagnostic tools etc. If you're looking for the best dollar to TB storage solution this isn't it. This saves me time and energy now I can run diagnostics (smarmontools) at a much faster pace (4 at a time).

Actually solved my problem in 5-7 minutes and gave me a new code by people who were on their game. I work with a lot of SSDs. It worked 100%.

Physically, the footprint of the enclosure is tiny, however there is a large power brick that comes with it. Now I can see 4 NVME drives in my disc manager / utility!

Connect the Thunderbolt cord to my Lenovo Thinkpad T480 (has Thunderbolt 3) running Linux (Debian 10). It works perfectly on my 2018 Mac Mini running Big Sur - very simple plug & play as I'm not using the bundled SoftRAID XT software. The only downside? This device ended up being perfect for me as I didn't want RAID but I wanted to simultaneously access 4 NVME drives in Linux.
I am very happy with this :-). Called OWC tech support and they were actually the greatest tech support I have ever met and talked to in my life.
Build quality is excellent. ForretressMine didn’t come with the software code. 2Ghz, 40GB RAM).
