After the intervening years, I began again, with gouaches and acrylics, feeling my way into my imagery. The thrust of my work has been more of a mystical journey, but I found myself thrown back onto the earth to find the ground of nature and home. I taught at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston for 32 years. The ultimate must-have for any Jane Austen fan, this gorgeous set of 53 tarot cards features hand-drawn characters and objects from Austen’s enduring novels. I made the decision to create a series of pieces based on the 22 Major Arcana, the persistent archetypes of human experience. The 'vortex series' and 'room series' are reflective of that impact. These images sit in parallel with the minor arcana, the four suits of 52 cards.

Occasionally it does augur physical death, but this rarely - if ever - applies to the querent. This seems to me to be very important, for there is no point working with a deck you don't enjoy using, or can't relate to. (2) The Minor Arcanadescribes the 56 cards which relate to 'everyday existence, passing thoughts, event and feelings - and the people who contribute to the pattern of our lives, along with links to astrology etc. How can a pack of Tarot cards tell us anything about the present and the future?
Then follows the description the card in terms of 'Myths and Symbols', 'Interpretation' and 'Reversed' (the 'interpretation' of the card if it 'appears' in a reversed state in your reading, if you have chosen to do this). .
