Picked up this Hori compact controller to try and eliminate some of those issues and, to be fair, it has done exactly what I wanted. Best thing you can buy for your switch. I love it

A good sized controller that is bigger than the standard ones but smaller then a full sized. ! Not much larger than the original joycon controllers but way more ergonomic. I would have given it 5 stars if they had inbuilt batteries, gyro control and rumble - but none of those are deal breakers for me considering it allows me to play handheld for longer periods now without having to set it down on a table and resort to the pro controller.
