So at 7 I turn the dial to 12 hours and at 10 minutes length. Simple to program NB if you want it to come on at, say, 9pm you have to set it at 9pm and wait 24 hours. Just set it up at the time you want.

The manufacturer should consider widening the compartment to take AA batteries. The plants are healthy and the crop of tomatoes, chillis and herbs has been plentiful.

I've set mine for 7am and 7pm at 10 minutes each. Overall I have found the timer useful, using the time when the batteries run out to feed the plants, so you could say the short battery life is a good reminder for me to feed them! Super easy to set up and have it running my gardena sprinklers system. Using 1100mAh rechargeable batteries, these lasts about 5 days when watering twice a day for a minute a time.

I bought two of these in May and have given time to test them fairly thoroughly before reviewing. No leaks and still working 2 months in Setting up the timer is easy, but the battery life has been relatively short. Haven't had it long enough to say how long batteries last but only used for holidays anyway.

"You can use it directly from the tap, but I use this for a watering system from my water butts with the aid of a connector, Hozelock 2289 Male Threaded Adaptor 3/4in BSP Male (HOZ2289). Keeps good time. I set up an irrigation system from water butts for to my greenhouse using Hozelock type fittings, as in the photo.

The attached photos are in response to the person who asked "what is the connector part at the top? The battery capacity is the largest I can find so not ideal. No issues.
