. Used as final coat over satin finish to protect Matt painted wall as dogs brush up against it. Left a very subtle sheen and is smooth to the touch.

Great! Applied 1st coat of Polyvine Satin finish (white bits only) with 10% water added, then 2 subsequent coats undiluted.

This is now my 'go to' product for sealing chalk paint, wood and anything else I decide to use it on! A little goes a long way, no awful smell, applies really easy, dries quickly. The wall now looks fantastic and wipes down really well, it doesn’t mark either if anyone brushes up against it. Yes, it can look slightly darker when the light catches in some directions but when looked at straight on, it’s pretty much the same colour as the emulsion.

The flat matt has a slight sheen, but less than an eggshell paint. I then later tested it on an off cut painted to the same spec as the shelves and no significant colour change was noticed. Having painted a wall with dark grey paint, it would mark at the slightest touch and no chance of wiping down with a damp cloth, the paint would just rub off. I painted an old bureau in Frenchic chalk paint, but didn't want to seal it with wax: the surface was left patchy and not durable at all when I used wax before.
