The book paints a most humble and true picture of the struggles faced by an operator on returning home to loved ones, desperate to protect the family dynamic, after witnessing and being part of such horror on an almost daily basis. Puts a lot of things into perspective. I could feel the emotion from the pages and could not put it down.

I had to buy this one. Wow! If you haven't got this book in your basket, go buy it now! Impossible to put down, I found myself holding my breath whilst turning the pages as the magnitude of the danger is portrayed with such intensity.

Some achieve this admirably, sadly others can not…I only hope that the success of this book prompts Mr. having only known 'H' and his family for a few years, I felt like I was living and breathing those last few weeks he spent Kabul, as I expect, so did many others. An amazing read that I couldn't put down and two days later, it was read. Reading the accounts of attacks and death tolls, mostly civilian, brought into stark relief the horror that contractors, to allow them to operate effectively, have to become inured to and face with a cold pragmatism.
