Reviews

k.a.a.

Signs of the zodiac, jobs to do in the garden, myths, seasonal recipes, traditional folk songs, full tide timetables etc are all subjects which are included. In essence, it’s a month by month guide to what we can see in our changing skies, and the plants & wildlife we may witness in our gardens, fields and woodlands.

Its a lovely publication which will appeal to a wide range of folk, especially those who like to keep in tune with the natural environment around them. I especially love the ‘field guide’ handy dimensions of the almanac itself, and also the hardcover —and definitely the seasonal recipes and the added bonus of astronomical and astrological information. A literal wealth of very interesting information on the natural simple life in Ireland which is exactly perfect for a seeker of the natural simple life in Ireland —(I’ve already identified unknown flowers by peeking ahead to November) … but I believe the book also covers Britain.

There are plenty of graphs, depictions and very good hand drawings of the subject matters as well. Definitely a great little almanac, highly recommend. The pages have a nice well comfortable sized and spaced print and the pages themselves are of a good quality paper.

I get this Almanic every year. I can only speak highly of this book, which is why I have no hesitation in giving it a 5 star rating.
