I’ve always liked TP-Link, and have always trusted their products to be reliable and easy to use. I find this layout harder to make things look neat but easier to manage and swap cables so happy with the tradeoff. to protect yr desk, they include 4 rubber stick on feet if you want to use them. You can bet your last penny that the power a camera of that type needs will be in EXCESS of the 55 watts total power the POE on the SG1008 can supply, so the SG1008 is not what you need.

In summary: Superb product. Reliable, build like a tank by a company which has an excellent reputation in this area. Fibre broadband comes into my house at approx 500mb speed, and by the time the signal has gone through these switches, to the wireless access points and then to my phone, it still seem to be 500mb.

TP-LINK , please get yr act together, either correct your box writing or give us the holes we need. (When I say 24/7/365, that's exactly what I mean. Do take note of one other thing: IF the POE power draw exceeds the maximum allowed 55 watts.

Once that bit's out of the way you just navigate to the web interface, choose the ports that you want to group and hit apply. maybe a touch far fetched for most of us, but here goes: You have splashed out on the super duper PTZ camera, which has a 140 meter range at night, and it's using its in-built infra-red lights. This switchhas the ethernet ports at the front and power at the back compared to the previous, unmanaged version SG1008, which has the ports and power input at the back.

But. Needed a unit to fit a LAN lead from laptop and my hive unit. One thing I noted is that it wouldn't let me use LAG group 1 for ports 5 & 6 so I had to use group 2 instead. 4 of the ports are Poe and there is a light indicator on the back side to show when Poe is in use.
