My boiler is in the loft on an outside wall and it gets very cold. In extreme weather the condensate drain freezes and stops the boiler. Easy to use, I used my own electrical supply (Switch Fused Spur) and chopped off part of long lead and 13A plug.
The thermostat supplied I personally did not like so I fitted in it's place an after market control see second photo. Used this kit to supplement my heat trace of a long condensate drain line. The actual heat cable is inside the condensate drain "t" piece where it passes through the cavity wall to outside.
