It's as tall as a size of my hip so I don't think they'll be able to climb over it unless you put a toy in there that's as big as the gate and them combined. I bought a couple of these pens a little over a year ago for my 3 ferrets (2 females and 1 male). Tall enough that my ferrets cant escape and small gaps so they can’t squeeze through.

Here's a few things to keep in mind if you're getting these for ferrets:-If you're going to leave them unsupervised, make sure they have safe, unbroken toys that they can't accidentally swallow a piece of. They can move the pen in and out which changes the shape, but that's it. !

Now I can take my ferrets out a few times a day to release some energy and keep them happy. Love how it has the tarp piece for the bottom. I use this as a small area for my baby ferrets to play in. We built a wooden base with a panel board bottom to keep them from pushing the fence or getting under the tarp (that we're no longer using).

These pens have been great! You might glue the ferret hole shut if it becomes an escape problem. Not sure the best way I want to use this yet, but right now we just open it to let him roam part of the kitchen most of the day. I don't think they can it possibly Escape out of it either because it seems to be very heavy and they cannot push it so I think you'll be fine if you have this for your ferret.

These were definitely worth it! My two ferrets are happy! . -If you decide to have the pen around the cage like some people on here have done, make sure they can't climb the cage.

Really like, glad to have it and may get a 2nd one someday, but doubt I'd ever pay the full $77 for it though. It would also make a fine cage instead of the standard ones, or could be wrapped around smaller cages to give more space. Instantly put them in it with all their toys and they ran freely around and played.
